In My Mailbox (14)

This is a meme that I first heard about from Kristi over at The Story Siren and immediately wanted to jump on board.

Every week we’ll post about what books we have received (whether they’re bought/borrowed, etc… you get the idea). Everyone participating will try and visit other lists to comment and possibly pine for the new arrivals everyone’s talking about. I’ve learned that it’s a great idea to really try and stop by at least two or three lists because I’m constantly finding out about new books that I’ve later added to my TBR list.

This week I got a few to add to my collection, and a few that I must pass on as part of the ARC tours, but regardless I'm super excited to get started!

The Broken Lake by Shelena Shorts (ARC) (thanks to Shelena and Jenn @ Book Crazy)

Virals by Kathy Reichs, Brendan Reichs (ARC) (thanks to Razorbill publishing)

Leaving Paradise by Simone Elkeles

I Am Number Four by Pittacus Lore (ARC from Star Book Tours)

The Crescent by Jordan Deen

Forgive My Fins by Tera Lynn Childs

Looking for Alaska by John Green

The Faerie Path by Frewin Jones

Maximum Ride:  The Angel Experiment by James Patterson

So what did you guys get this week?  Any good recommendations for me?  I'm always hoping to add to my every growing TBR pile, help me out!

It's Friday, and you know what that means....it's time to do the Book Blogger Hop! I'm hoping that I'll find even more great blogs than I have in the past few weeks, there are so many great ones out there, I can't wait to check them out!

So have a great weekend guys, enjoy the holiday and as always.....Happy Reading!!!

This week I got just one to add to my collection and I wanted to say a special thank you to Penguin Publishing for sending it over, I can't wait get started.

My Name is Memory by Ann Brashares

Daniel has spent centuries falling in love with the same girl. Life after life, crossing continents and dynasties, he and Sophia (despite her changing name and form) have been drawn together-and he remembers it all. Daniel has "the memory", the ability to recall past lives and recognize souls of those he's previously known. It is a gift and a curse. For all the times that he and Sophia have been drawn together throughout history, they have also been torn painfully, fatally, apart. A love always too short.

Interwoven through Sophia and Daniel's unfolding present day relationship are glimpses of their expansive history together. From 552 Asia Minor to 1918 England and 1972 Virginia, the two souls share a long and sometimes torturous path of seeking each other time and time again. But just when young Sophia (now "Lucy" in the present) finally begins to awaken to the secret of their shared past, to understand the true reason for the strength of their attraction, the mysterious force that has always torn them apart reappears. Ultimately, they must come to understand what stands in the way of their love if they are ever to spend a lifetime together.

So this week I got some really great books and after two crazy weekends I'm just looking forward to spending the weekend diving into a couple of these reads!

Moonlight by Rachel Hawthorne

Full Moon by Rachel Hawthorne

Dark of the Moon by Rachel Hawthorne

(Can anyone tell that I'm hooked on this series, lol!)

Wind Warrior by Cynthia Roberts (signed and a special thanks to Tasha over at A Trillion Books)

Perchance to Dream by Lisa Mantchev (thanks to YA Books Central)

Magic Under Glass by Jaclyn Dolamore (thanks to Jillian over at Random Ramblings)

Everlasting by Angie Frazier

The Prophecy by Dawn Miller

Swoon at your own risk by Sydney Salter

Aries Rising by Bonnie Hearn Hill

So as you can see I went a little crazy with the books these past two weeks and I think I'm going to have to try my best to resist buying anymore for a while, or at least until I make some headway with the ones I have, lol!

What did you guys get this week?  Any recommendations for me?

So this week I went a little crazy, mainly due to the book festival, but either way I do not think my wallet appreciated it!

Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher

The Pace by Shelena Shorts

The Lonely Hearts Club by Elizabeth Eulberg

And I also wanted to thank Erica over at The Book Cellar for The Tension of Opposites swag that she sent my way!

So on to the contest reminders.....today is the LAST day to enter My 1st Giveaway and you don't want to miss out, I'll be announcing the winners on Monday.  Don't forget there's also two more contests that you can enter, The Pace giveaway and the Angel Star book/swag giveaway, both of these books are signed by the fantastic authors so you really don't want to miss out on your chance to walk away with your very own copy!

And of course since it's Friday, you know it's time to do the Book Blogger Hop!  I'm hoping that I'll find even more great blogs than I have in the past few weeks, there are so many great ones out there, I can't wait to check them out!

I've got the Richelle Mead book signing this Sunday in Delaware and I'm super excited, I'll hopefully be able to take some pictures and maybe even walk away with not just one but two copies of Spirit Bound signed...now what would I do with two copies you ask?  There just might be a chance for another contest!  If I can get two copies signed, one of them will definitely go towards a contest so check back and cross your fingers!

Enjoy the weekend guys and happy reading as always!!!!!

In My Mailbox (8)

This is a meme that I first heard about from Kristi over at The Story Siren and immediately wanted to jump on board.

Every week we’ll post about what books we have received (whether they’re bought/borrowed, etc… you get the idea). This is generally done on Sunday, but I’m told that it’s really whatever day works for you; I’m going to be posting mine on Fridays because I tend to post less on the weekends.

Everyone participating will try and visit other lists to comment and possibly pine for the new arrivals everyone’s talking about. I’ve learned that it’s a great idea to really try and stop by at least two or three lists because I’m constantly finding out about new books that I’ve later added to my TBR list.

So this week was slow on the new purchases...mainly because I'm still trying to get through the old ones, but I was lucky enough to be able to get one that I've been waiting on for a while.

The Fire Opal by Regina McBride

There was a time when Maeve O'Tullagh led a simple life; a time when she and her mother, Nuala, collected kelp on the foreshore near their cottage in Ard Macha; a time when she played among the Celtic ruins with her older brothers and daydreamed about the legendary Holy Isles, an enchanted land ruled in a past age by a beautiful goddess.

But after Maeve's sister, Ishleen, is born, her mother sinks into a deep, impenetrable trance. For years, Maeve tries to help her mother "awaken," and then the unthinkable happens: Ishleen succumbs to the same mysterious ailment as Nuala.

Heartbroken to think that her sister and her mother might be lost to her forever, Maeve sets off on an unimaginable quest to a world filled with fantastical creatures, a web of secrets, a handsome, devious villain who will stop at nothing to have her hand in marriage—braving them all to retrieve a powerful glowing stone that will help her recover the souls of her loved ones and bring them home to Ard Macha.

That was it for my mailbox this week but on a more exciting note, starting Monday I have a really fun week planned for the blog...it's Angel Star themed and there will be a review, (of course) and an interview with the author, Jennifer Murgia.  I'll also have a post about the Gaithersburg Book Festival which takes place tomorrow, Murgia will be there along with a lot of other great authors I'm looking forward to meeting.

And there just might be a new contest that everyone will want to get in on...because you guys know I don't like to go to a book signing and not share the love with you guys....so stay tuned next week for some great fun!

It's Friday and you know by now what that means....it's Book Blogger Hop time! I can't tell you how many great blogs I've come across and started following week after week thanks to Jennifer's weekly meme that gives everyone a chance to get their blog noticed...so head on over to Crazy-for-Books and let me know what you find.

Just another reminder...don't forget to enter the contest for your chance to win one of four great books! Just click on the contest tab at the top of the page and you'll find the link, contest ends May 21st.

Have a great weekend everybody!
